Make It Make Sense
Hinjewadi flooded. The next question was whose flood it was.
Dear Mamdani, when you complain about Hinjewadi, you should first work out whom you are complaining to.
It isn't the Pune Municipal Corporation. It isn't the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, though both are nearby. One report lists the regional development authority, the industrial development corporation and a gram panchayat, all for a tech park full of global companies.
We have raised a ticket. It has been assigned to the concerned department, which has asked which one that is.
Make it make sense.
The facts
- After the June 2025 waterlogging, the Free Press Journal reported that Hinjawadi does not fall under the Pune or Pimpri-Chinchwad municipal corporations.
- The report says the tech park area is managed by the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority and falls under a gram panchayat, and it also lists the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation as having jurisdiction.
- The report does not set out what each body is responsible for.
